The ninth annual Supply Chain & Transport Awards 2016 were held on 20th April 2016 and hosted more than 250 industry executives to celebrate industry achievement.

The awards brought together the materials handling and supply chain communities in the Middle East for an evening of networking, entertainment and healthy competition on one platform.

Maritime India Summit 2016 (MIS 2016) , a maiden flagship initiative of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India that provides a unique platform for participants to explore potential business opportunities in Indian Maritime was organized from April 14-16, 2016 at Mumbai  and had conference, exhibition and demo sessions.

Mangaluru Udyoga Mela 2015

The forest minister of Karnataka, India and the Dakshina Kannada district incharge, Mr. Ramanath Rai convened a conference in Dubai in November 2015 to meet entrepreneurs from the Gulf and to invite them to be a part of the 'MangaluruUdyogaMela 2015’, a mega job fair to be organised in Mangaluru on November 19 and 20. Our MD, Mr. Avinash Kumar Gandhi was one of the key participant of the conference.

   

Our Mangalore Operations has already absorbed 12 employees and as we go full-fledged in 2016, we plan to increase our strength to 100 employees.

 

ATS Terminal doubles capacity

July 07--SHARJAH -- Hamriyah Free Zone-based ATS Terminal has increased its storage capacity from 22,000 CBM to 42,000 CBM.

The company which offers services like storage and transport of liquid chemicals and fuel completed its phase two expansion recently. Currently, ATS Terminal is utilising only a 30 per cent area of the existing plot and have plans to triple their capacity in the future.

"The facility, with six piggable pipelines (SS and MS ) from the deep harbor and inner harbor respectively, is equipped to handle, store and distribute all kinds of Class 1, 2 and 3 products on behalf of our customers in the UAE and the GCC. After the expansion, our capacity is 42,000 CBM," said Avinash Gandhi, managing director of ATS Terminal FZE. On the occasion, Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (Saif Zone), said: "We are happy to see the growth of ATS Terminal which has been operational since 2012. We are happy to support our investors and our goal is to create a robust business environment by meeting the needs and demands of our investors, and seeing such developments show that we are achieving our goal."

Gandhi said that his company found HFZA to be the best place to build a liquid storage terminal and that they have plans to kick-start phase three and phase four in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The total investment, once all the phases are completed, will be over Dh100 million.

Hamriyah Free Zone houses over 6,200 companies from 157 countries, welcoming foreign investment from more than 500 industries in key sectors of oil and gas, petrochemicals, maritime, steel, construction and food.

ATS Logistics will invest 20 million euros in Geel

ATS Logistics is in the vicinity of Geel invest 20 million euros in logistics services for the petrochemical industry, accounting for 25 to 30 new jobs. The company, headquartered in Dubai, will provide on-site services (warehousing, storage and transport) grant to the Indian group JBF Industries in Geel. The investment was announced today during the Belgian economic mission to India, where Flemish Minister-President Kris Peeters had a meeting with the Indian management of ATS Logistics in Mumbai, reports the Cabinet Peeters.

The Indian group JBF Industries had in 2011, during a visit by Minister-President Peeters to Mumbai, an investment of EUR 150 million announced for the establishment of a production unit of PET granules in Geel.

The production of JBF Industries will start in April 2014. By then ATS also be operational to provide logistical services. In time, ATS also provide logistical services to other petrochemical companies in the region.

"This investment confirms ATS Logistics the importance of the petrochemical industry in Flanders. In addition to the direct employment of more than 60,000 people, generates the petrochemical industry already 100,000 indirect jobs in Flanders," said Peeters.

The region’s most sensational racing series will get underway at Bahrain International Circuit as the headline race at BIC’s Speed Weekend from Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd December.


Drivers from across the Middle East will join drivers from Europe to compete in the first round of the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK on the demanding 2.56km-long Inner Circuit configuration of Bahrain’s Formula One track in Sakhir.

A full grid of twelve Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo race cars will hit the track through free practice and qualifying sessions before battling it out over two 30-minute long races with the promise of some electrifying action throughout the weekend.

After the successful pre-season test at Yas Marina, the race cars underwent technical checks at the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK technical facility at the Dubai Autodrome before being loaded into containers for the journey by sea to Bahrain International Circuit.

Maserati appointed ATS as its logistics partner and are responsible for the management of the transportation of the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK race series. This began with the cars being airlifted from the Maserati Corse factory in Italy and includes final delivery to race tracks across region.

Amit Gandhi, Director of ATS, is proud to have been chosen as the logistics provider for the series. “Time and schedule plays a crucial role for such big events, and Team ATS has risen to the demand with ease and brilliance. We have put our best resources and team on the case to ensure that the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK series is a grand success for the Middle East.”

Once the dust settles after Round 1 this weekend, the cars will remain in Bahrain to be ready for Round 2 which takes place at Bahrain International Circuit on January 6th-7th 2012.

Umberto Cini, Managing Director of Maserati Middle East & Africa, is looking forward to the first race. “It’s been a long journey, but we are now ready to race with most spectacular racing series in the Middle East. We expect to see some close action in both the races this weekend as our drivers fully exploit the performance of their Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeos on the track.”

The Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK series consists of a six-weekend, 12-race programme across the Middle East region with races taking place at Formula One circuits in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi, plus Losail in Qatar and the Dubai Autodrome. Drivers signed up for the series receive a tailored Maserati race suit plus VIP hospitality for themselves and guests at each race weekend.

Each driver is allocated a car to race for the full series with support their own dedicated mechanic to ensure the car is primed and ready for every race. Drivers are provided with tyres and fuel for each race weekend, plus have full technical backing of engineers from the Maserati Corse factory in Italy.
